IM Epuriru: ~A Moment with my Kakiis~

A Wonderful day out with my friends on the 1st of June 2008.

It was the first day of Hari Gawai, a public holiday for Sarawakian.

Hari Gawai or Gawai Day is known as a Harvest Festival or a New Year celebration for the native ethnic groups of Sarawak.

Since It's a public holiday,

my friends (they are actually my primary school classmates) and I planned to go for a day trip to

Damai Beach Resort.

Kuching popular beach resort area is about 35km from the north of Kuching.

We went there by using Holiday Inn shuttle bus (RM10 per way)

since nobody volunteer to drive.

It was a 45 minutes drive from Kuching city.

Well, Damai Beach Resort is located at Teluk Bandung, Santubong.

Among the attractions in the area include the Sarawak Culture Village, Mount Santubong jungle trekking, Seafood Restaurants, River Cruise, Bird Watching, Dolphin Watching, Golfing and Water Sports.

We departed from Holiday Inn Kuching at around 7.15 a.m. (very early)

After bathing under the hot sun, we played some games. Our old-time favourite, the "O Gui" (means turtle in Hokkien) by using poker. The rules are, loser have to give a peck to the winner on his/her cheek.. heehee

Loser pecked the winner on the cheek while "paparazzi" capture their photo.. =p
